If I may be so emboldened...
Fuck community.
Community is a buzzword today. Every business out there wants to create a community.
I for one, don't want to. Yes, you heard that right. I don't want to. That's not why One Dude Listening (ODL) was created.
I am just one dude.
I already think getting help for mental health is terribly tough as it is. There's just too much information out there. It weighs down on those who are depressed, angry and generally just suffering deep down.
I don't want to throw a registration form at you.
I don't want to give you tons of goofy headlines and tabs to click on.
I don't want to make you take up Discord because fuck Discord and all its scammy ass bots and shit.
I don't want to give you a choice. Again, I am just one dude. I am not Netflix. It's highly ironic that "help" out there comes in so many forms that it's just overwhelming.
Hell, I don't even want to give you super in-depth and deeply researched articles. I don't understand most of them myself. My shit here is just (hopefully) relatable shit so you can realize I am just another fuckup who's trying his best.
I don't want to and can't give you a community. I am not sorry for that.
Read my shit here. It's all free. Talk to me if you want, it's also free.
If you don't like any of this, that's okay too. Just enjoy your stay here. For whatever it is you're going through, I hope it makes you feel that much better today.
Now, after reading through my little rant, you do know that you, as one dude or lady, are fully capable of making a change for yourself right?
A little support from others would be great now and then, but it's not like they have all the answers.
Because it all comes back to you.
Fuck community. I think you're more capable than you think.
