I woke my ass up really early today to attend some church thingy.
I am usually not alive before noon and so I was really groggy and tired.
It's also extremely out of character for me as I am totally secular. A good friend of mine asked me to go and I agreed just to support her.
Some takeaways:
- It's nice to be in a place where nobody judges each other. That's what they proclaimed at the start at least. But the point is, it's about being in an actual place where people are trying to be nice and respectful. It's hard not to be judgemental on the internet or social media. When you're glued to your phone all day, I am certain you'd become a judgemental person.
- Some middle-aged dude there looked pretty normal and healthy, but he revealed that he has chronic kidney disease. He has to have dialysis three times a week. Truly, one should always be grateful for a healthy body.
- Some lady shared about how she basically wondered what meaning is there to her life beyond just living as a fruitful member of society. She is retired. I guess once you feel like you've succeeded in life, you tend to ask the bigger questions. Dare I say even, you can spend your entire life doing what's considered right and making others happy, but you're still left unfulfilled.
- Everyone is looking for that answer that answers their grand question in life. I guess it's God and Jesus for some, and that's fine. Everyone just wants to be happy. Everyone can get along.
